The Angels in Harlem Gospel Choir is the older touring arm of the Harlem Gospel Choir. It has been christened Angels in Harlem by many famous artists such as U2; by famous dignatories such as the late Pope John Paul II; and by audiences around the world. The Choir still talk about how wonderful it was to meet His Holiness Pope John Paul II in a private audience at the Vatican in 2003.

In 2004, Angels in Harlem performed with Bono & U2 at Rockefeller Center in New York City to raise funds for World of Hope Fund - a charity dedicated to helping victims of aids in Africa. At this concert, Bono gave Angels in Harlem special recognition for its support of children's charities.

In 2005 Angels in Harlem toured Louisiana & Mississippi to encourage the victims of Hurricane Katrina. They continued on to complete a very successful tour which included Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. This Eastern European tour was dedicated to the memory of Pope John Paul II, and received a standing ovation every night!

In 2006 and 2007 Angels in Harlem Gospel Choir toured Europe and Japan with Andre Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra, presenting a concert series featuring a coming-together mix of classical and gospel genres. The Angels also returned to Eastern Europe in these years.

This year Angels in Harlem traveled to Lebanon, the first gospel choir ever to do so. The trip to Lebanon was a wonderful spiritual and musical demonstation of Martin Luther King's goal of bringing nations and people together and giving something back. The enthusiasm and joy with which the choir was greeted can be seen in the slide show below.
